Students will learn how chaplains serve diverse populations by providing spiritual care, emotional support, and community engagement. Course Objectives: To understand the biblical and theological basis of community chaplaincy. To learn the history and development of community chaplaincy as a unique ministry. To identify the core responsibilities and skills required for effective community chaplaincy. To explore ethical standards, boundaries, and practices of self-care in community chaplaincy. To discern the personal call to serve as a community chaplain and consider practical next steps. Mini-Lesson: The foundation and purpose for each lesson is to offer a simple, clear, and concise explanation of the content covered, while thoroughly discussing the significant aspects and most pertinent details of each topic.
